'So Shiny, So Chrome' takes place 13 years after The Fall, a combination of the Oil Wars that came to a climax with a nuclear event. Our setting is the Wasteland, once the Australian outback. Wildlife mutated by radiation prowls the wasteland; weather is harsh and highly unpredictable; roving gangs of survivors fight for what remains of precious resources.
What a day, what a lovely day.
----- Season: Winter Weather: Days 8°C/Nights -10°C
Winter has descended once again on the Wasteland as merciless as ever. Days are cold, and with little cover the high winds are all the more biting; even without snow, hypothermia and frostbite are a constant threat. The only relief is that many of the Wasteland's creatures are in hibernation.
Yellow is a young woman with a lot to prove. Where she was once regarded around The Green as a a crack shot and a skilled rider, she's garnered a reputation around camp for being soft. Most of her days are spent languishing under the sun as bait. Her black eyes are on the constant lookout for a chance at redemption.
Aiming at taking her fall from grace in stride, she's spray painted her fuel tank a bright golden yellow.
As far as plots go: Vulalini: She's primed to do much anything to prove her salt. Others: She'd most likely encounter anyone else as bait or a as a tag along on a trade run.
Also-- my Vuvalini Yue needs someone to play with. Not sure when Yellow became sort of outcast from the Vuvalini, but as long as she pulls her weight I can see them getting along just fine. (Also, Yue is the one with the cat)
I'd push for familial ties but they're literally from the other side of the world XD
I'm thinking that her fall was something a long time coming. She's a mean shot with a rifle, but hesitated with live targets. She got reprimanded for it a handful of times, but nothing really came of it until the bait she was watching over took a knife to the cheek. They boy that cut her didn't look a day over 14 from her vantage point, but her spotter told her to fire - and she didn't. Not until there was her sister's blood on the sand.
Yue might be able to see past her shortcomings because Yellow was especially patient with her when she was picking up English?
That could work, especially if that incident occurred before the Vuvalini even found Yue (she's only been with them for like 2 years so far). Yue is complete crap with a gun, so there's always a chance for lessons.
On the flip side, Yue's extremely business-smart, if Yellow ever wants to try and pick up her skills for trading.
And those skills seems like a fair trade. Would learning the art of the deal have taken them to Bartertown upon occasion?
I saw that Yue was racing. Would it be possible to say that Yellow has been sent along to be her black-thumb, gasoline fetcher and general lackey? She would have jumped at the opportunity to get out of cooking in a trap under the desert sun.
Oi, so we gotta continue the mess of Yellow/Aug. Also, we should do things with Athena. Raja is available - runaway from the Vuvalini some time over. Probably presumed dead. Aug is always open for crazy. Hex is shitty. Holden is an kind hearted fool.
